Flexible facilities to support growth
Beneq felt that their workplace was old-fashioned and for a growing company space was too small. The goal was to have the existing square meters in more efficient use and to modernize the facilities to meet today’s needs and support the company’s growth. This was the challenge that we began to solve together with Beneq, and as a result, a user-centred concept was created, on the basis of which the change was implemented.
From challenging spaces to a user-centric workplace
Beneq’s workplace consisted of individual offices that revolved around the office, there was little open space, and the facilities posed challenges to growth. About 70 people worked on the premises and the goal was to have space for 150 people.
“The goal was to create flexible, user-centric space and to make the existing square meters more efficient.
There is no one-size-fits-all solution, but we set out to create an agile workplace that adapts precisely to Beneq's needs, ”says Esa Santamäki of Agile Work.
The aim was to make the premises a functional workplace, which would attract new employees and improve the employee experience of existing employees. The facilities should enable individual, group and teamwork as well as various work tasks such as prototyping, testing and research.
Freedom to develop the workplace
No space is ever finally finished but a well-designed workplace lives with its users and adapts to the changing needs of the company.
At the beginning of the project, a workshop was held for product development managers to review the growth potential and special needs of the teams. Agile Work created a tool for Beneq using user-driven service design methods that made the placement of teams in different tasks and work situations more flexible. The tool gives teams the freedom to develop their own workplace in the future within certain, jointly agreed, boundary conditions.
According to Jari-Pekka Tiesmäki from Beneq, Agile Work Agile Work was able to provide the solutions Beneq needed in a cost-effective manner.
“ Agile Work understood what was being sought and brought us suitable solutions. From a difficult starting point, they managed to create a really good result. We got the much-needed space cost-effectively.
Agile Work has a good team where everyone is clearly an expert in their field. ”
