Modern Work and Production Spaces to Support Growth

Sartorius Liquid Handling Oy, together with Agile Work, carried out a workplace transformation of approximately 10,000 m² at its Helsinki site, where modern interior solutions were introduced to promote collaboration and productivity. The project progressed in phases: first, the office floor was renovated, providing dedicated spaces for the R&D and administration teams, as well as creating a working café as a meeting hub. In the second phase, the production facilities were refurbished. Agile Work was responsible for construction consulting, the development of business and real estate strategy, and the optimization of logistics and production expansion.

Seamless Integration of R&D and Office Environments

Sartorius’ innovative concept seamlessly integrated product development spaces into the office environment, instead of keeping them separate. This solution fostered closer collaboration between R&D and support functions, and a model previously piloted proved effective in creating synergies. As a result, the development process was streamlined, and the workplaces were transformed into a truly innovation-driven environment.

Co-Creation Shaped a Truly User-Centered Environment

Agile Work collected feedback through surveys and workshops to ensure the renewal would meet employees’ needs and expectations. Team leaders and representatives participated in the workshops, which strengthened the sense of ownership and commitment. Digital facilitation tools such as Howspace enhanced communication and feedback collection throughout the project. The result was a modern, flexible, and employee-centered workplace, where a vibrant work café supports informal collaboration and social interaction across teams.
